If you are prone to cold sores, make sure to get a multi-day prescription for an antiviral. Follow instructions from your physician on how to take it. Generally, it's recommended to take the anti-viral 48 hours before the procedure, and twice daily until the day of the procedure, 12 hours apart.
Come with moisturized, non-flaky lips. The best way to achieve this is by using a lip scrub 2 days before your appointment and applying moisturizer 24/7 until your appointment.
Do not drink alcohol, take advil, or drink caffeinated products 48 hours before your appointment as they thin the blood and can affect your results.
Refrain from chemical peels, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion for 30 days prior to your appointment.
Schedule Botox or filler injections at least 6 weeks before your appointment.
Do not take antibiotics.
Avoid Retin A, chemical exfoliators, or Accutane for 30 days beforehand.
No recent surgeries within the past month.
Do not use sunbeds or tan within two weeks of your appointment; reschedule if sunburnt.
Avoid upper lip waxing within 2 weeks of your appointment.
Stop blood thinners 48-72 hours before unless medically necessary; doctor’s approval required for prescribed thinners.
Refrain from intense workouts 24 hours prior.
No alcohol or caffeine consumption within 24 hours leading up to the appointment.
Optionally, wear everyday lip makeup to convey your preferred colour and shape.
Stay hydrated and eat lightly on the appointment day.
